Program Manager for all Hurricane Ida Recovery:

In the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, The Sulzer Group was appointed as the Program Manager for St. John the Baptist Parish, taking on an extensive set of duties to support the community’s recovery efforts.

Our journey commenced with the initiation and submission of the Request for Public Assistance (RPA). We actively participated in crucial meetings, such as the Kick-Off Meeting, Exploratory Call, and Recovery Scoping Meeting, tailoring our approach to the Parish’s specific needs.

Our team embarked on meticulous site assessments to determine the extent of damage and the need for temporary facilities. We also reviewed insurance documentation and claims adjuster reports to assess the coverage and possibilities for FEMA recovery, striving to maximize available resources.

The project formulation process involved precise site inspections and the development of detailed Damage Descriptions and Dimensions (DDD) and Scopes of Work (SOW) for each project. We crafted cost estimates, Cost Estimating Formats (CEFs), and Repair vs. Replacement calculations. Additionally, we managed alternate, improved, and Section 428 projects, as well as Section 404/406 Hazard

In response to inquiries, we expedited Project Worksheet (PW) processing, maintaining our dedication to precision. The closeout phase involved assembling and transmitting documents to request project award amounts and comprehensive documentation for project closure. We carefully reconciled payments received, considered various payment mechanisms, and reviewed all aspects, including insurance reductions.

The Sulzer Group’s work with St. John the Baptist Parish post-Hurricane Ida spanned the entire disaster recovery spectrum, from the initial request to project formulation, culminating in a comprehensive closeout. Our approach was marked by precision, efficiency, and a relentless commitment to maximizing the Parish’s recovery resources.
